When you LOL IRL, do you actually think LOL in your head while you do it? Does it sound like LOL or El Oh El?
Should I be reading your LOLs as LOL or El Oh El? Or should I just imagine your avatar having a good old belly laugh?
What about LMAO? I can't read it as El Mao cos that conjours up images of a little fat Chinaman in a sombrero, which sends me of track.
The obvious alternative is El Em Ayo, but then I just end up going down the path of some fancy remoulade, possibly a low fat version.
I don't even want to think about where my mind might end up if I didn't catch myself every time one of you ROFLMAOs. I already have a developing image of what a Roflamo might look like (kind of a cross between a piano playing dog and a small startled sheep).
I haven't yet tried getting my head round an Ar Oh Effel Em Ayo might be, but I think it's something Mary Poppins might have in her bag and sing about on sunny summer afternoons.
Am I over thinking this? Perhaps I ought to just roll with it. Only not on the floor and with my ass still attached to my body...
