Lolipopping during flowering

I tried searching through the forums to find more info on why the community disagrees with lolipopping during flowering, so I was hoping someone could shed some light (haha) on why you can't? Is there any benefit in trimming fan leaves towards the bottom?

Thank you! So what about in the case of autoflowers since it's harder to measure the true flowering start? My last autoflower I'll probably ever do is about 3 weeks to finishing. I read somewhere that flushing can cause a kind of stress on the plant that helps it produce more trichomes, I thought maybe minor defoliaging might have the same effect, that's why I was curious
