Long live Metal! Hey dudes, i fell like talking about metal right now. Tell me your favorite bands, tell me what you consider a poser, tell me your favorite genre of metal, tell me why you like the bands that you do. Here are my favorite bands.

-Cradle of Filth
-Cannibal Corpse(almost said cannibal filth for some reason.)
-Behemoth
-The Berzerker
-Amon Amarth
-Gorgoroth
-Slipknot(Not real hardcore metal but some of the songs are catchy)

These are just my favorite bands at the top of the list. Really, i have a bunch of reasons of why i listen to metal. Mostly because it takes me to another place, gives me somthing to relate to and makes me have a brainfuck. It is also reallly great if your pissed off angry and you wanna kill somone, the anger flows into the music and makes it more powerfull while making you more calmer. So the more pissed off you are the better it will sound.

I also play guitar and when you put all your anger into a riff it sounds extremly good.

Also i would really like to know your definition of a poser cause mine might be a bit different

I used to like lamb of god but i listend to it so much that i got tired of it.

Man the definition of metal has just changed in my day i guess. lots of the bands listed so far would have been considered (at least by my group) as scream or thrash metal. I was going to come in here listing things like Metallica, Pantera, Megadeth, Slayer, but i guess by now a lot of you would consider that classic rock lol

I'm old I guess......saw Priest and Maiden together was Maidens first time in the states, saw the original KISS when I was 7 w/ my uncle (scared the shit outta me), got to see Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax in small clubs in Boston as a kid. Got to see the original Van Halen lineup.....Was in Dallas/Forth Worth just before and when Pantera released Cowboys from Hell and got to see them in a couple small clubs.

So im partial to the older "classic" stuff, of the newer stuff I like Lamb of God and KIllswitch Engage and some of Shadows Fall stuff.

Not a huge fan of hardcore death el screamo little talent stuff ( IMO). However, I think one of the greatest "metal" ( if you will) groups in my opinion is TOOL. Maynard, IMO, is a lyrical genius.

Well metal is metal new or old lol so post it. It dont matter if its thrash or core. As long as it aint no pussy ass lady gaga(SHE GOTS A DICKLE PICKLE)
