Hi everyone, I'm Omar, or PastLife, whatever you'd like to call me. I've been wanting to join for a while but have been reluctant to for privacy.
This is the second grow overseen since I became a 215 patient. The first was Grape ape, Green Kush and Purple lavender, all grown under 2 ft with CFLs. I harvest about 1.5 ounces of some really good meds.
Last season I vegged for 2.5 months then budded my plants as fast as possible. Started from Clones in Fox farm ocean forest, and I used Botanicare pure blend pro throughout the grow. I never flushed the soil so I experienced a lot of discolored leaves but the buds were super dense, crystally, and very potent.
This year I kinda didn't plan shit because I'm workin my ass off and broke and lacking in materials. I'm kind of a scatter brain and I never have any time because of work and school. I tend to do things without thinking or proper planning. So anyways this time 'round a few of my plants are in different combinations of media and watering schedules, which sucks, I'm trying to regulate it.
Sorry this is so long, those who bear with me, thank you for your time, believe me, it is much appreciated!
The Set Up Currently:
I DO NOT OWN A pH KIT! I'm saving for a good one.
Indoor/Grow Tent/panda paper
Climate: 68F during lights off - 75F with lights on. 55% humidity at night 45% during light.
-humidity levels spike with rains of course. rainy days it hits 66% I have a 12" box fan circulating air into the tent. There are vents at the top to allow air up & out.
Lights: 18/6 (saving energy, yeah CFLs too.. Im poor, sad really)
2 hanging lamps each with 2 'Y sockets' each containing a 100 w equivelent 26watt 6500k cfl and a 26 watt 2700k cfl.
Water:
I am current watering with room temp. Distilled or R/O water.
Soils:
(what I have left): Ocean Forest, UniGro Organic potting mix.. and dirt outside (joke)
Nutrients:
I do have: FF:grow big, Botanicare pure blend pro grow and bloom. and General Hydro soil.
I do not want to use these anymore because of salt build up! and the cost of nutrients is outrageous, your paying for a brand name!!
I'm going towards a more natural route. I recently purchased:
Mexican bat Guano 10-2-1 Earthworm Casting (red wrigglers) 3-2-1 and a bag of Epsoma Bone Meal 9-12-0.
Plants:
Grape ape, Orange crush (and it's clone), Green kush are sitting in 1 gal pots: 70% FF:OF and 30%FF:Lightwarrior. These plants were clones that all accidentally harvested small and began re-vegging recently.
Problems:
-These plants were on a 1/4 label recommendations of FF:Grow big every other watering. They were not adequately flushed because I had no time.Salt began to build up, causing purplish petioles, yellowing from margins inward and working its way from the lowest fan leaves upward, veins and center of blades stay green, yellowing/browning and curling down tips, mottled brown spotted margins and over all stunted growth.
- I finally took the time to flush the soils (3-17-11)
- I then added 1.5 tbs Mex. Bat guano, 1 tbs Earthworm castings.
Here's my questions on this situation: Is what i described sounding like potassium/magnesium deff? Probably cause by lockout from high sodium content? Since I flushed out the soil, did I lose my micronutes/trace elements? I assume so. Since all I added after the flush was Bat guano and EWCs what should I use to get an Organic source of the other nutrients. I'd like something that required minimal flushing of soil, isn't concentrated, or expensive solutions.
GDP and the Blue bull are in are in 1 gal pots: 40% FF:OF - 20% UNIGRO organic potting mix 10%perlite, 10% FF:Light warrior. Problem:
- These plants and soil are new and have not received any ferts. The problem is, even though the soils are new and the clones were transplanted just a few days ago, there seems to be the beginning of the same deficiencies as the above group of plants.
- These plants have only been being watered for 2 weeks
Heres my question on this situation:Since the soil is new I assume there is still a good amount of trace elements/macros, how often and in what manner should I feed these newer babies with the nutes I have?? (Mex. Bat guano, EWCs and whatever natural sources are recomended for other nutes)..
Green Crack plant was a gift.. It's in Miracle grow (which I have never used)
Since this one is in Miracle grow - Dont know WTF Im gunna do to it besides water it.
Thank you everyone who read all the words up until this one. You are good people. Peace.
Pictured below: Grape Ape.. Clone from my last grow. On the left is the orange crush, barely coming out of flower.. You can see the yellowing good from this angle. I've cut off the fan leaves that were really brown and yellow spotted... This plant just came out of Flower.. Started re-vegging it on 02-14-11 (34 days..)
