I've begun to enjoy the fruits of a longer hydroponic Veg period. It seemed that many growers are (were) interested in minimizing the grow cycle, but for legal reasons (plant count laws) I'm inclined to use fewer, older and larger plants and a wider canopy.
I'm about 4 yrs into hydro and have gone from A C.A.P Ebb & Gro system to a 3' x 6' x 6" flood and drain table with individual pots.
However I've been thinking I really want to eliminate the nutrient reservoir in favor of constant recirculation and more aeration.
I'm thinking I could either -
a) use a 3' x 6' x 6" tray with 4-6 bubblers (air stones) and simply circulate the water around the bubblers and roots?
or
b) use the same 3' x 6' x 6" tray with 6-12 sprayers to mist the plants roots 24x7
or
c) use the same 3' x 6' x 6" tray with a constant flow of (highly aerated) water in and out of the tray from different ends, the tray would be at a slight angle to allow the flow
I'm reasonably certain all three could grow cannabis plants. However I will usually veg my girls 45-65 days thus the root ball will become huge with the rest of the plant. I'm wondering which roots & plants will most likely remain "most healthy" despite my constant LST abuse on their topsides?
I'm hoping one of you has experience with these techniques and large plants?
