Longer veg = Shorter Flower ?? Myth??

Hi all... grown for awhile now but have a question of theory...

Does a longer veg cycle shorten the length it will take for a plant to mature during flower?

I.E.

8- week flower strain

Vegged for 6 weeks instead of 3/4.

When flowered will it take 6 weeks?

no it doesnt work like that tho i wish it did lol that would be sweet
if anythin it takes longer to flower the longer you veg cos the plants get so big from vegin theres more area to produce flowers so it takes longer

damn i wish he was wrong but hes not lol
