I would like something equal to my 600w hps/mh set up. Not sure the conversion of wattage output to LED

If you want something to replace 600w of HID then you want to get around 600w of LEDs. Theyre a better spectrum than hps/mh but still, 300w of LED does not equal 600w of hps. So as far as finding one to replace it for 2-300 isnt likely.

I can recommend growevolution.com but they dont, and no other LED company, have anything close to a 600w for that price. Even the least powerful model is in the high end of your price range. You can try buying direct from china but they can be very faulty and probably not have a 5 year warranty like most places.

You can DIY and make yourself a multichip/cob LED light out of a few hundred dollars of ebay shit if youve got the tech knowledge to wire it. Its pretty simple but can be confusing.

Thanks for the info. I was planning to keep the setup I have for flowering and start another to get seedling / clones matured. So would just buying another of the same kit be ideal? I was trying to do something that would lower the light bill a little so the wife doesn't start throwing a fit. LOL

LEDs are an investment that pay off on the back end ya dig?

pros: long life, very low power consumption, very little heat
cons: initial price

Yeah if you want real results use the wattage youre replacing. You wont save money on less elec per month on lights, but your a/c bill will drop alot and you can run less fans and shit. Ive already taken out over 100w of fans that i dont need anymore and im not even fully converted. replaced my 400w cmh and 600w hps. Check out the journal in my sig if you want to see more.

Probably would need 1 for each plant huh?
As suggested, for best results use something near the wattage you are replacing. Even the 180w version of that LED light, only draws 109w. So for $230 you get 2 - 110w LEDs. Or 220w to replace 600w of HID. You can get more wattage, from Chinese mfgrs. But the risk is higher. Whereas, the higher rated and domestic LEDs are really expensive. You really should check out the LED sub forum in Indoor. Lots of really good info there :hump:

Good luck

Thats why i like grow evolution. They take chinese bodies and fans and heat sinks and power supplies they get for cheap and pass the savings on to you then get their own multichip LEDs custom made to a higher CQ standard than most chinese companies. Theyre bridgelux or epistar and have a 5 year warranty ffor anything except physical damage cause by the operator.
