LOSING POWER

So I'm sure everyone at one time or another has had power issues! Either your poor and didn't pay your bill, just a stoner and forgot you had a bill (lol) or maybe like the east coast that about to get hit but that storm!

So my question is what would you do! Let's say u lose power for 3-4 days what are the options! I thought about maybe buying the battery operated led flash lights to help keep the girls alive? Maybe just keeping them in total darkness, or maybe just letting them be on the natural light buy using the light fromy the window!

Any help or ideas would be great! And I hope this thread may help some ppl if they ever lose power for any reason!

No worries, trying to have enough backup power for potential scenarios is a waste of money and time if you're growing personal or small scale. If you have an extended blackout just keep the girls in the dark until power is restored. Have done it a few times with no ill effects, the ladies didn't even notice. Worst thing you can do would be to provide intermittent lighting or have the power come on/off/on/off several times, unplug the lights and plug them in when power has been consistently restored.

stick them outside lol the sun is the next best thing just when its back for indoors just cut the lights for 24 and set back to your normal light routine

True story; we lost power for 10 full days a few years ago. A freak October ice storm. Had some plants in soil at the time that were in bloom for like 3-4 weeks that seemed ok even in total darkness for a week. Was also running an 8 site aeroponic rail; everything in there died quickly in a day or so. Tried rigging up a few cfls from a small Honda backup generator which I got over a week after power went off to keep the rest of plants from dying but most of the fan leaves were already yellowed and droopy; the plants were looking very sickly by then. The cfls did not help at all so stopped even trying.
When the lights finally came back on the plants in soil pots actually got worse but they eventually survived. All the leaves yellowed, shriveled up and died but then new green shoots began to appear a few weeks later. The small stunted young budlets were cut off and made into extract after they turned brown; was actually ok just was not very much of it. There was some weirdass single leaf growth from light stress but the plants fully recovered after about six weeks. They were topped re-vegged and then flipped. Actually ended up with a decent harvest too albeit many months later than expected. That was the end of growing hydro for me; dirt pots are much more forgiving.

What’s the actual battery capacity? Battery backups are not meant to actually run your gear long term. Battery backups are intended to give you a few minutes to safely power your electronics down.

look at your gear you want to put on back up. How many watts do they all pull? Do some simple math and thatwill tell you how long they’ll run.

Okay I am adding up watts now

Okay appreciate it

A decent UPS backup supply, with a high enough AH rating, will definitely keep a cycled pump going. For days.

Great for DTW, F&D and especially low pressure aero systems..

Lights not so much, but that isn't as important..

Cool okay here is info and as many pics I can get. It has two outlets hooked up to 1 15amp and 1 20amp breaker. Two single pole breakers 15 and 20. Pics shown... all my lights and pumps and fans equal like 511watts. And I have ac unit 1180watts. And a dehumidifier 352 watts. I had ac and dehumidifier plugged in on one side so kept poppin so I just have ac on one side and dehumidifier is unplugged at moment. Maybe I can plug dehumidifier on other side that would be 511 plus 352 for dehumidifier that would be like al.ost 900watts. I know they have wires all ild and hooked up dumb prob. Sorry so long buttoned to give as much good info as possible

15 amp is maxed out at 1800watts on 120V. It’s not safe to run it maxed out either. Divide up the appliances and lights so that you aren’t pulling to much power on one circuit.

That UPS isn't going to do what you want it to do. Look at the specs. Specifically the battery run time. It wouldn't power a 100 watt light for more than a half hour at most. Those are designed for surge protection and keeping electronics on long enough to shut them down gracefully. It's not for powering anything for any length of time.
