Lots of Questions

Well I am in Florida and Medical Marijuana Legalization will be on the ballot in November. As of right now surveys show that it has an 80% pass rate. That being sad I have been researching the different methods of growing indoors. I want to grow my own and maybe have enough to sell to the dispensaries. I was thinking like 6 to 8 plants, veg for 2 months then flower for two, clone at 2 months for another grow therefore my harvest cycle will be every 2 months. I will probably use the main-lining technique and ScrOG too to increase my yields. Not looking to get rich or be a big player just want to grow the best bud that I can and make a little money for retirement. I am 39 year old and will be putting some kids through college so I could use the extra money. I am college educated and did not start smoking until I injured my neck and back a few years ago in a traffic accident that was not my fault.

My question is what type of hydro is best?
I like the Current Culture system but a bit pricey.
I also like the Hydroponic Bubble buckets.
And then there is the homemade ebb and flood systems that I can do homemade.
Which would be the best type of system to go with that will have great results with less issues?

I will be going with LED lighting. What LED system is doing the best out there?

Thanks in advance!

I'm in FL too, been growing for about a year now, going straight to hydro if you have not grown before can be unforgiving. Do you have experience growing plants of any kind?

If your going to try to be "legal", its impossible to know how much you can grow, before it passes, and they set legal limits. If i were you, I would try soil first, and start now. So when it does pass, you can go full-blown into it. Plus you will be able to have as many clones as you would like to throw them outdoors next season (free light =D ) when its passed.

First Grow?
most people suggest soil.
I did my first with ebb n flow, I still have plants alive 8 months later in my veg E n B system.

hydro is faster but more technical, but if I started with it anyone can.

I used E n B in my first Flowering plant, my second I did Hempy.
Look into Hempy, it's a form of passive hydro, no pumps, tubes etc.
( hand watering is how I feed my Hempy. You could set up a feeder on a timer.)

Good Luck and Happy Growing.

Bubbleponics is probably the best, plus you dont have to use timers on pumps cause they run 24/7 , I know very little about LED's, I could only give my .02 on CFL's and HID's as they are what i use, and have in the past.

No matter what method you go with, consideration must be given to the excess temps in Fl, many grow at night and with or AC?

Yes I have grown other plants in the past. I just have never grown hydro or marijuana. I want to do it legally but I have a couple of friends and an uncle that will definitely get their medical usage card so I could grow for them too.

If you've got someone to walk you through the hydro then go for it, a lot of people love it, but I don't know if I'd go it alone on top of getting familiar with your new ladies. Those suggesting soil do make a good point about a first grow. Simplicity, simplicity, simplicity. Good luck either way!

YES, best flower time indoors is winter, lowest temp ever was like 70, highest was 105... Even with a 5k btu 24/7, heat pushed out through 6" inline fan through cool tube into roof or what have you, during summer, it takes an act of GOD to drop below 90. (This is only ONE light, granite HID, not LED) This will effect more temperamental plants. The lower humidity as a result of the heat maybe beneficial for the late flower resin production, but is kind of a bitch when your growing select plants for cloning.

Well I have a fully enclosed shed that is like 50' by 12' with the front 10' being a shed for the lawn mower and fishing stuff, bicycles, etc... The rest is closed up and sheetrocked in and turned it into a kidz cave, with two TVs, Xboxes, couch, and two bunk beds. It has a wall ac unit that does pretty good cooling it.

Once the kids are gone I thought about walling off about 30' of it with a divider in the middle with pocket doors for the entrance doors. The outside door is secure coded door handle. I could also have ADT connect an alarm out there. So basically the total grow room area will be like 30' by 10'.

My question, is that space enough to have six plants on veg for two months then put them to flower, then when they go to flower have six new ones to start veggin? That way I will have a two month turn around for a six plant harvest once I am up and running. I figure that I will need 2 LED light systems per 6 plant set up.

Is this a good idea or too much work?

Any feedback??? I think that would be plenty of room.
