LOVED my plant a bit too hard, will she self repair???

pushed a bt too hard on my lady if you look at the photos, i know plants self repair but this is on a bit larger scale will she fix or should i just chop n clone. i tied it back up with some hemp rope fingers crossed would be a shame to lose that branch

i think i'd cut it and clone it. there might be enough cambium left for that to live, but you'll have to leave it tied up till you chop it. and then again, there might not be enough left, and it'll wilt and die anyway.
i've learned to wrap my finger around the plant right where i want it to bend, and work it till it does what i want it to do

fuck man, you really think so? soo bummed. you think theres any harm in leaving it n waiting it out? ive had colas in the past that i snapped and they did wilt but i left em there came back a couple days and sure enough self repaired with a nice knuckle. and yeah my dumbass was just slightly lowering a branch i tied wich was fairly new and flexy just didnt realize all the pressure was on the split of the main stem :wall:

you can try it, but i'd keep a real close eye on it, if it looks like its wilting, i'd jam it in the cloner.

I had mine split like that twice..once it was a few days after i tied it down, got up one morning and had split right where it was topped. Nothing to worry about! You tied it up..she most likely will fix herself just fine. The place it split, there is enough stem left to carry water to the top. The branch on the right might be touchy as it seems to have taken the brunt of the break.

I think that will just form a big knuckle. I have had topped plants split there during training. It healed up in a few days.

No worries, duct tape also would have fixed the job

I've had that happen and each time I just taped it up and you would never have known anything happened. If it doesn't wilt it will be just fine with the repair job you did.

checked up on her about 8 hours later, no wilting of any sort. i noticed i didnt clamp her shut tight enough so i wrapped more string around the stalk to keep the break shut.

You should be in the clear. They're tough plants. I've put them through worse and still ended up with a bountiful harvest.

Itl be fine 9/10 times. Well done , great work , give it a week to be back, if in flower you'll have an extra week etc. Really good job and nice explanatory pics. Remember to release the clamps when it's healed, or make them bigger to compensate for growth

You guys have the most incredible /unbelievable information about this stuff that I can't believe.. .One of my stems broke so I wrapped some tape around it and it never missed a beat... I read that you can't clone an auto so I was kind of pissed,then i remembered reading that about the tape... Thanks to whoever it was that said that!!!

I have this happen to fairly often me due to having a few extra plants that I don't mind pushing hard because they are kind of like the the runts of the group that I play with a little more. I've split stems straight down the middle during veg and I've even had it happened in the middle of flower a couple times. All I do is put a little bit of cloning / rooting hormone on the cut / break and wrap it up with a little bit of electrical tape to hold it together for support. Most of the time they don't even wilt or act like anything has ever happened! but it can, so like Mr. Shrubber was mentioning I would just keep an eye on it. But usually as long as the plant is healthy they can take a little bit of a beating. I wouldn't ever intentionally do it but things like that do happen in this hobby. All in all, they are pretty tough and resilient plants, they just want to grow. It kind of reminds me of people putting a nail through the main stalk lol

Yeah,mine never wilted or anything...

mine made it through worst, the initial break. shes all good now no wilting even new growth on the branch that was hanging on. will probably remove the rope clamping the main stem together in a couple days. shes definately a healthy one. also have a gelato going ready

Id still keep support on the break for at least another week or so.. Leaving the extra support in place definitely wouldn't hurt anything, unless it's too tight lol. But if you're still bending or holding other branches down and LSTing her, you never know if u bump her or she has some kind of growth spurt could really open the fresh wound back up. I'd keep her supported until it forms a knuckle.
