lowbay lights

hi all could i use a lowbay light to grow with, i have seen them with mh bulbs and hps bulbs.
i wouldnt thought the bulbs were good for growing as there industrial light units, so i could change them to grolux bulbs or could i???

The only issue i see is the light voltage and what is available in your home. You will probably want to make a remote ballast too, thats 50% of the heat from lights like that, im using a flood fixture. It just barely fit, but i gutted a PC power supply and used that for the ballast container. Stuck a fan on there, and its room temp. Without the fan, its so hot i cannot touch it.
