Lowryder times, how do i get more yield?

Ok i just stuck 4 lowryder seeds in the dirt as of 5/31/2008, and right now there in with the other veg ppl. under a 400w hps on 18/6 . For like 2 months those other veg plants were under 3 lights = totalling a wattage of around 208 lol and discusting at that! i had 1 2 bulb T-5 sunblaze 48w and 2 shop lites from the home depot both 2 bulb 80 watts ea. ne ways bought a fuckin HPS and stuck it in there...there showing improvements especially with the top. oh btw im running half soil grow/ and then i have a hydro grow under the hps as well in rockwool and hydroton. MY QUESTIONS ARE.... bongsmilie

....if i start it at 18/6 for a bit will it hurt the plant? or should i start it at 12/12 right off the bat? cuz my other plants cant be on 24/0 ....and ALSO what times give me better, bigger yield cuz eventually ill make them a small SoG if i can get some posts and learn the process of taking pollen off the male and dusting the selected female to produce more seeds and then save the males pollen and kill him.?? ne advice will be helpful

To get the best from LR, put them in the with your other plants, on 18/6.
Lowryder really enjoy the 6 hrs off..And in my experience with these, they will tend to grow alot better.
I've tried 24/0 and they just seemed to burn out, altho initial growth was great.
I have also tried 12/12 from seed and those sucked balls.
I now run a routine, whereas they go 18/6 from seed, then after 4wks, if i have other plants flowering, i stick them in with those on 12/12, with no significant reduction in yield or quality.
If i dont have any plants in the flower room, i keep them on 18/6 from seed to chop.
Go steady with the nutes...LAst thing you wanna do with these is stunt of burn the crap out of them..start off with 1/4 dose and build up...I never exceed 1/2 to 3/4 recommended dosage.
Give a VERY light feed of grow type nutes after wk3..Then slowly build up the nutes with a bloom booster.
A typical example of my feeding regime for these is :-
wk3 - diluted grow nutes 1/6 dose
as soon as sex shows, typically day 17 for males and 22+ for fems, feed 1/8 grow nutes and 1/4 bloom booster.
After a few of watering/feeds i increase to 1/2 bloom, then slowly introduce the unsulphured molasses,, 1st a half teaspoon per litre,then a ful tsp.
maintain until last 10days,then stop nutes,use PH'd water and molasses.
Works like a charm for me everytime.

There's a bunch of threads on here bout pollen collecting and pollination, keep an eye out for the thread FDD did a lil while back..Very informative and has everything you need to know to start a lil breeding project of your own.

thanks man for all the info will keep a sharp eye out for FDD's thread on pollenating them...thats pretty well drawn out im glad you posted cuz i can save the thread. i wanted to put some heavyweight in with some FF cha-ching in the later stages of flowering...whats your opinion on that. i want to get some good yield per plant. what did you get btw when you grrew lr2? i have 2 other bag seed that are showing females i believe how far into 18/6 can they go before they are introduced to 12/12?

good thread title. I will watch for any other increase yield tips with the Lowryder2. I would keep in mind that the Male:female ratio for LR sucks, so I would start with more than 4 seeds I were you and hope for 50% females. My last grow was 4 and only one turned out to be female. Collecting pollen and making seeds is a breeze. Don't pollinate the main cola. You will get a shitload of seeds by pollinating the lower buds. One small bud will give 50+ seeds. I got around 200 from the nuggets on my one female and she was small.

Ya lost me here bro, but i am a lil baked at the mo, in some serious pain.

i want to get some good yield per plant. what did you get btw when you grrew lr2?

I average just under 2oz (wet)with most of my LRs, but some of the genes are a lil sucky, some will yield 15-20g, some will grow one huge 2oz+ cola. all depends on the stup.
Altho, LR breeds are reputed to do OK, in medium to low light levels, obiously the better the light the better the yield, as with other strains.
Molasses is great for them,seriously!!! use that shit. just dont the the soil get icky.
I use bio grow bloom and top maxx and thus far its done me proud.
Cant speak for other nutes as those are all i use..
But i'm sure the results could prolly be more impressive with other brands of bloom booster..I hear good reports from monster ( or whatever its called ) stuff.

As the guy above said, LR and LR2 fem/male ratio can suck...my first bacth i got one chick out of 10 beans...but the intention was to make more beans using the strongest male so thats what i did...Been growing the thing ever since... Have to say my own fem/male ratio off my beans is now alot better...

ANy time, ideally when they are mature(show pre-flowers etc) or basically when ever you want if height is a factor that affects your grow...i am now startin to go 12/12 from seed, and it works fine, tends to be a lil slower.

the 18/6 is just the veg time you allow them, as soon as theyre at a height you think is manageable, go to flower.
Bare in mind most plants will double, some even triple in height during flowering.
LRs however will not, they max out at around 18-20"

Thanks frosty again....I just got my hps light in but a ive been having some problems with it cuz it wont turn on with my timer...so i asked a friend and he said its my timer it needs to be bigger like a sprinkler timer to turn on the ballast.

For now the Lr2 are sitting under a 48w sunblaze for some of there veg life. then they will be put under 2 80w floro shop lites, then by then hopefully they will be good enough size____? to be put into flowering before they reach 18-20" .

Oh and i was talking about heavyweight its a nute that makes plant yield more weight and potency thats all. and FF= fox farm Cha-ching it like makes the buds taste better and makes them shoot more resin at like the late stages of flowering.
..........but i need to mylar my grow area and put some cardboard up and screw it all down and mylar the inside for my flowering 12/12 area. so i can maybe try cloning the 2 bagseeds, so i get more females besides the LR2.

OMG it was like 106 F in my grow area today! that has got to be bad! will it hurt my plants they seem to be ok? im trying to get my hands on a 4" inline duct fan from HTG . will that take the hot air, and odar out of that area when it gets hot if i shoot it up into the attic?

dude you CANNOT veg LR's, they are AUTOFLOWERING strains, which means just that...As soon as that seed pops during germination , it has an AUTOMATIC veg of about 10 days, then starts putting out pre-flowers in the next 3/4 days then by day 17 if its male it will start showing REAL male flowers, and if its a chick it will be around 21-23 days before you see any pistils...You can only control how well they grow, by giving them as much light as poss, and the relevant Nutes as they need it..

Yup Heavy weight will work, jut dont exceed 1/2 to 3/4 recommended dose, not familiar with the FF chaching stuff, i dont believe some of the hype surrounding those kind of products..

Yup those temp will fuckin fry your plants..get a fan of some description in there asap
