LST autos, tie off or stake down?

In talking with friends, and reading online, people seem to be split. It seems as many prefer tying their seedlings off to the side of the pot as do staking them down using a wire stake?

To me, staking seems easier. But I'm sure plenty of growers feel otherwise.
Thoughts?

As budz said both work. Staking is easier when small/short and tying to the sides I find works best with long branches to further open up the canopy
