LST with Aerogarden

Has anyone come up with an ingenious way of LSTing with the aerogarden? I was thinking over using some double sided tape and putting some styrofoam around the top to stick pins and some small string. Anyone have thoughts on the subject?

I was thinking about the same problem. I wondered it Quakehold museum putty might work? It's supposed to stick to surfaces and normally is used to hold down vases, etc, to their shelf in an earthquake. Some users have stuck plates on walls. It's pliable, ie a putty, and I thought it could be used as a ball at two ends of a piece of cotton string. It can be lifted and reused.

Just considering it as a possibility- haven't used it.

Tried some locally purchased "adhesive putty" for LST. It doesn't work well with string...slices through it slowly like cheese. I was able to make it work using sturdy twisties bent into a squarish shape...but think it isn't worth the effort.

Back to the old standby...duct tape. Run some soft cotton string or horticultural ribbon under a piece of duct tape and place it on the AG where you want a tie-down. Then just tie the plant down using the string (or ribbon) and you're done.

As usual, KISS is better by far. Duct tape!!!...the savior of DIY!!!

I just got a 100 foot roll of twist tie from the hydro shop and used it to tie it to the light support arm. Could only do a couple branches at a time but it was simple and just pick up the plastic hopper, rotate it 180 degrees and then do the other side. I got a nice bowl shape from mine and it is really paying off in flower. Lots of lower budding!

I found out a decent way to LST a plant on the aerogarden. . But currently mine is growing so short i don't think i am gonna need to after 8 weeks is done. So maybe next grow i can show you all.

I have some of these sticky type things that hold down zip ties. So i was gonna use that and some garden tie.

I'm about to start a grow in about 3 weeks after my next house inspection and I'm going to give lst a go. At a local general store I foind some rubber coated thick wire specifically made for tieing plants to whatever and not cutting into them. I'll post pics and possibly try to find an online source for everyone.

I managed to find something that is awesome for LST. It's rubber coated wire and the rubber is heaps thick. Where I live it's by a company called Gardman but I can't see it listed on the US Gardman store so I managed to find the same stuff by different companies on amazon.
you can get it from http://www.amazon.com/Ferry-Morse-973-Soft-Twist-10-Foot/dp/B003TSE6Y6/ref=sr_1_40?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1296046159&sr=1-40
or http://www.amazon.com/Luster-Leaf-Rapiclip-Light-839/dp/B000RUFDI2/ref=sr_1_sc_9?ie=UTF8&s=home-garden&qid=1296046128&sr=1-9-spell
or if your in the UK then you can find it through the following http://www.shopwiki.co.uk/Twisty+Tie and Australians can just go into your local K-Mart, Big W, Bunnings or Mitre 10 store and they should have it there for about $8 for 7m.
