helllo , i'm new here and a first time grower. i.ve been trying to get my head around best temps for growing and best distance of lamp above canopy. lots of people say anything above 80f will stop light absorbtion, lots of peep say 84 is best and it,s ok to about 89 without co2. differnt strains i expect .
i'm vegging 3 week old cheesy dick clones ( try saying that with a straight face )under a 250 mh which gives best lumens to plant between 4 and 13 inches away . when i put 6 inches away the canopy temp is 85 when i put it 16 inches the temp is 79. so my question is which is best ? let the plants get a little heat stressed so it can get more lumens by putting the lamp close or move it futher away and sacrifice lumens to keep the plant at exactly the right temp? which wins , better light or better temps. and i still don't know what exactly is the best temp. i've spent about six months reading posts by really experienced growers and experts and i still can't find a definative answer.
