Made biggest mistake in the world now root rot

Ok I will try to make this short and to the point. This is my second grow the first was great but I guess ignorance is bliss by the way it was a hydro grow rain forest bucket setup. Fast forward to 2009 decided to buy new equip bought a CLEAR res boy was that stupid. So my plants they are growing like crazy all of a sudden algae starts growing tons of it. my PH starts fluctuating like crazy roots started to accumulate a greenish material on them and browing. Leaves started curling and what used to be fat healthy leaves started to turn skinny. After finally doing hours of research on here I cam to the epiphany that something isnt right with my roots due to my DRASTIC ph fluctuation along with the green shit taking over my res not to mention from white to brown roots. So I did some reading made a H202 dip for my plants cut the damaged roots dipped again ran clean ph'd water after cleaning my res for about 2 days. oh forgot bought 2 white 2 gallon white buckets to shut out light for plants.

my plants are slowly recovering one of the plants is growing roots rather fast. But I still need some help on how to help one of my babies... its a she and she isnt growing any new roots at all she is developing new growth at a alarmingly slow rate.

you have root rot from the clear res, what is your temp of your res if you dont know that u need to figure it out, i would clean out the res with bleach hot water, tape up that clear res, ph flucts are from bacteria eating up oxygen and throwing everything out of whack, they might make it be easy on the nutes and give em time

I have switched my babies to white buckets now out of the clear res. I dont know my temps but they are in a grow closet with 2 2ft t5s and cfls fyi. My close gets warm is it any devices i can use to regulate the temp of my res or just get a small fan?

fan or ac for air temps, i personally dont agree with this next method but try putting cold bottles of ice in your res make sure they dont touc hthe roots though MAKE SURE

dunno if white is gonna be much better than the clear. Go black

how well did the rain forest work? i'm thinking of gettin one...
