mag def????

Is this magnesium deficiency...
It looks like it to me but no 100%.

Its almost like the leaf is decaying between the veins.

Any help would be smashing

hmm yeah that or N. but lack of Mg also lock N out, that or Iron but that is so rarely, but agin it all depend, like how is your PH ? if its off to much it can also look like this as it lock the nuts out, make sure the PH and Ppm is on spot, then maybe add some more Mg

To actually help you we need information. Things such as:
Grow substrate
Nutrients
Lighting
Strain
Environment
Etc...

Its a blue cheese seedling.
I am firstly a soil grower but have put my hands to hydro but just doing 2 plants to start with to learn the score with hydro.
These two are in a an aeroponic res, i am only using 10ml of biobizz grow per 20l of solution. Also micronutes in there.ie. boron copper iron manganese but there is no magnesium or calcium. I am using tap water so calcium levels should be ok. This is what leads me to believe magnesium and the fact it looks like mag def.
Lighting is 125w cfl plus 2 30w cfls.
Temps good at 23c humidity at about 30%

I have just been and purchased some epsom salts. Im hoping they are the right thing. They are baths salts correct?

Looks like the early signs of pH fluctuation too me...





Both of these leaves in figure 3 and figure 4 are from the same plant. It could be over fertilization, but more likely it is due to the pH being off. Too high or too low a pH can lock up nutrients in the form of undisolvable salts and compounds, some of which are actually toxic to the plants. What then happens is the grower then tries to supplement the plants diet by adding more fertilizers, throwing off the pH even more and locking up even more nutrients.

yes Epsom salt, also called English Salt is Magnesium sulfate

here is what I use for Veg:



a Ts. per gallon of water now and then if your in soil, in coco I used 1 gram per gallon every time I watered from start to finish I guess its about the same in hydro

delute it in a cup of boiling water fist then add it to your water Can or the water you fill the res with, will provide both Mg and sulfate both important for the plants cell structure and there way to absorb the nutrients


remember the PH need to be a bit more acid in hydro then in soil and more spot on, IMO 5,8 in Veg and 6 in flowering, here is a chart:

My ph is around 6...
I keep my soil grows around 6.5 and i knew it needed to be lower but ill maybe go atouch lower then as 6 still seems high to the chart.
Hopefully the epsom salt will sort it out.

Another couple of pics may help abit closer...if you zoom in you can almost see the decaying...it looks like discolouring on the pics but its actually the top layer of leaf has gone.
