I just have it on top to prevent the fungus ... I can easily remove it

Hydroton balls on top should be fine. The soil can breathe thru that no problem.
Seedling one may have an issue but shouldn't with the Canna products. Their coco usually comes pre-charged with CalMag doesn't it? If not a shot of it or some Epsom salts can fix that. Mix a tsp of Epsom in a cup of water and foliar spray her and see if that greens her up.
Seedling two is a non-issue and looks great. The very early growth often looks a little funky and in a couple weeks can be pulled off if not fading on it's own.
If those are different strains it may just be the way they grow differently too so don't kill them with kindness by trying to fix a problem that may not be a problem at all until you mess with them.
