Magnifier for harvesting, how strong?

What is the optimal figure for a magnifying aid to determine precisely when to harvest? X=?

Will one of these do?

no man you want to get a 30x atleast! thats what i have it works good but if you could get a 60x it would be well worth it! they have the 30x on ebay just look under jewlers loupe!

I use one very similar to this. It works great, can magnify 60x/100x and has a light on it. Check it out:

Yeah, that is what they sell at radioshack for $13, just without the 420 scope logo.

I have a "Sony Cybershot W170" (10.1 MP) even though I set it to macro mode I cant seem to get those close ups of the Trichrome, am I supposed to have the flash on (wit hthe HPS off)?

It's all in the chip engine, not the MGPixel's. Just a bit of a marketing ploy. You have the MGPixels, but its hooked up to a tricycle... :lol:

Personally, I can tell with a 10x scope, but then I have good eyes. I think a 30x loupe can be had for about 20-25 bucks.
