Hey guys 2nd grow here and I got a purple mazar that's growing a bit off. I got it growing in a 3 gallon pot under 3 ft the picture is of the main cola which seem to have heavy leaf growth with little or no bud growth. buds underneath seem to being growing well but more fluffy than dense. I have a white widow and NL growing great. any insight would be appreciated.

Thanks I thought maybe it was nitrogen toxicity but there are two other main colas from the same plant that seem just fine.

Maybe foxtailing?
I know very little about foxtails, but I've seen a few grows claiming they've foxtails which does look a bit like what may be happening with your baby?

Otherwise I have no clue.

the very tip of it does look what I have read about known as "foxtails", doesnt look bad from the angle of the pic, I have seen some pic's on different threads with multiple foxtails....some claims they lead to "airy buds" from what little I have read about them but in other threads it doesnt seem like people mind them as much so I guess it is a toss-up on whether like them or not, I guess if going to make your bud all airy and fluffy I can understand why a grower wouldnt want to see them on their buds.

From what little reading I have came across on the subject it seems that heat stress can start to make buds foxtail, but I have also read that sativa dom plants like to foxtail in general..sorry I dont know more about the subject but just passing along what bit I have read about them. Hope that helps some and good luck,,,btw pic does look bit "leafy" but very nice bud though anyhoo...

Yes it very leafy. I did have a heat issue for a while. A couple fans fixed that issue but this cola was sitting at the very top. the resin production seems pretty weak as well as compared to the other 3 main colas. Im almost thinking would be beneficial to the rest of the plant if I cut it off or would I stress the plant too much in doing so.

i cant tell you to cut or not, dont want to be the reason you make a mistake or dont make a mistake, best advice i can give you is if already havent searched that term "foxtail"..I would do it and see if any of that applies to you which it probably does since what you stated in previous reply. I know people can stagger their harvest and cut top cola off and let the lower buds mature some more,,so I would like to say it wont stress your plant but I just dont know for sure bro, hope a more experienced member can weigh in and help you figure this out though.
