Hi There,
I have my mother chamber plants in 6 inch net pots in a flood/drain system. Their roots are always air-cropped and pretty thick and spewing out of their pots. The pot size keeps them very busy and small.
I just put them in 1/2 gallon pots (its roughly 2-3 times bigger..i know still small but will change them to gallon / 2g pots for bloom), added them to a larger light with higher clearance to get them growing for flowering to end their generation. They have 1500ppm co2 injection and two strong circulation fans on them. I dont normally boost co2 for veg, but I want to try a bit of a sog scrog and wanted to get them big, fast. They are taking off in their new pots, not stress at all.
They have always had only 1/4 - 1/2" main stems. I can see the plant is growing nicely, but am worried that the wooden stems wont grow thicker and thus wont permit and expansion of the root system (poor yield) . Am I off track here? Just trying to see if I veg the living shit out of these really health gene mothers, will they eventually start to get fat stems?
I have only documented thick stems from grows: outdoors , from clones where they have grow rapidly to their desired size and get a thick green , fresh stem which hardens over time and from plants I have let grow haywire to later scrog. All have thick stems... hence my question with no experience in bloomin' mothers
Will these babies thicken up or should vegging the new crop of clones? I dont want to waste time on the moms if they end up producing nothing major.
Thanks for any help ladies and gents, long time reader, rare poster but love all your contributions.
