Mainlining clones

Hello everyone I just joined your forums to further my knowledge in cultivating medical marijuana. I have grown before from seed but I got my hand on a clone and I need some help, shes growing beautifully in my DWC I just have a question I wanted to try mainlining as I got 10 clones for free and wanted to try it on one but I'm having difficulties on locating where? Since it's not symmetrical I'm a little confused and would love some guidance / advice since I will be doing a journal which I will be updating weekly starting this Friday :)

Here are pictures of anyone can help out I'd greatly appreciate. If possible to copy my photo and drawn on it where I should be cutting and what I should leave ect thanksimage.jpeg

Clones are not designed for main lining. They have alternating nodes and when you cut the main stem, one growth tip emerges in its place. LST and supercropping would be better options. With training you can create an even canopy. However, the nutrient balance to each cola won't be evenly distributed as it would when main lined from seed. From seed you top early when the plant is immature and has even growth tips. So gently bend her downward to promote side growth, or let her grow out a bit and go for the same result with training. Topping her will only slow growth. Hope this helps Good luck!!!

Hey, I'm just wondering exactly what you meant by the quotes statement... I have exclusively grown from seeds using LST into a Scrog. But I'm trying my hands at clones now. They are 17 days old, and about ready, as far as I can tell, to start LST.

So then uneven nutrient balance in colas, does it mean a cola higher on the plant could end up smaller than one lower on the same plant? And regardless of how it works, do you
1. do anything drastically different like cut off some growth or top (or not) differently (granted you can't top to symmetrically manipulate the clone as you would a seed sprouted plant)?

2. Is the approach to LST also th same, just aiming for a horizontal plant with a flat top for even exposure...?

As far as LST from my experience it's training the plant to grow an even flat canopy to all more shoots to grow as for topping clones since it's what I have done 3 days ago with a non symmetric cutting there are tricks to allow equal or atleast more equal distribution of nutrients. Yes you are correct that some colas lower will get more then higher up ones. If you mainline there's a way to distribute evenly but pinching the stalk of the lower cola and bending to slow growth and allow the upper shoots to get more bites to balance it out hard to explain but when I do it I will post pictures

No I think I get what you mean. Even from seeds I end up "controlling growth" by slowing down bigger branches to promote smaller or lower ones to even up. It's pretty much what I intend to do with clones, but I guess I'm looking for more details first, I'll transplants my clones today or tomorrow then given them 2-3 days and start shaping them. I'll get pics as I do so.
