Mains wiring for new extractor fan

Hi guys,

Just a quickie,

Is anyone familiar with this type of connection set up. I'm used to just stripping the cable and screwing it in place.

But this setup has got me stumped.

Any ideas??

I have tried unscrewing the top and bottom screws in the picture but it just takes the whole unit off.

Not used this type before but to remove wire I am pretty sure you would stick a small flat head screwdriver (power off of course) into the tiny rectangle with shiny metal in them. The termination block looks to be push fit. Solid core wire would be best. Stranded cable could give you a hard time. If you are using stranded wire try putting the screw into the shiny metal rectangles as you insert the wire.

A safer approach is to visit the makers site and seek direction, some fans if wired in correctly will just run in reverse ..lol others can go bang ....your gamble ...lol
