making edibles with 6 lbs of spent trim/popcorn?

What are some rough estimates of strength/potency calculations for expended or previously extracted trim/popcorn buds? I have about 6 pounds of trim and popcorn buds that have been thoroughly tumbled in a dry sift tumbler to extract as much trichome heads/kief as possible. i now have about 6lbs of this tumbled material that still appears to have some trichomes remaining in the inner folds of the nugs but almost all of the stuff on the outside of the flowers/trim has been knocked off in kief collection.

what can i expect potency wise and how should i dose/mix this stuff up to make butter for edibles? I typically in the past have decarb'd then just simmered an ounce or two of "bottom of the bag" shake with a few cups of water and 2 sticks of butter. would 1 pound of this trim infused into 4 sticks of butter make for a potent mixture, or 6lbs of trim into 24 sticks of butter?

I made some canna-oil with coconut using the fan leaves from 3 male plants that were like 6 weeks old, and it was potent enough. YOU have 6 pounds of mixed female plant parts, so you can definitely harvest enough thc for edibles.

Since you've got 6 pounds on hand, I'd do a thorough mix of your material, and do a small scale test with an ounce or so and 2 sticks of butter. Using stoner math, I usually go with 5% as the thc max by weight for trim, and subtract 10% for the decarb, and another 10% for the infusion to figure for loss. So with this math, a test sample of 1 oz of weed in 2 sticks of butter is:

Weight conversions: 1oz of weed = 28 grams
1 gram = 1000 milligrams
28g X 1000 = 28,000mg

Total weed weight converted: 28,000mg of weed

At 5% thc by weight = (28,000mg x .05 = 1400mg)
Max available thc: 1400mg based on a 5% strength of thc by weight

So now that we've got an estimate of the max thc available, we need to hack off about 10% to account for loss during decarb, then another 10% to account for loss during conversion, then all we have to do is divide that number by the amount of fat we're using in grams, and that will give us a thc content per gram of fat.

Total THC: 1400mg
- 10% decarb loss: 1400 x .10 = 1260mg
- 10% conversion loss: 1260 x .10 = 1134mg
ESTIMATED MAX POTENTIAL THC IN 1 OZ OF 5% TRIM = 1260MG

Total weight of 2 sticks of butter: 8oz (8oz = 224g)
Total thc in grams / total butter in grams = 1260 / 224 = 5.6

TOTAL THC PER GRAM OF FAT = 5.6mg per g of fat.

So what you're looking at here is: 39.2mg thc per TBS of butter
156mg thc per half stick of butter
312mg thc per stick of butter

Those figures are based on a 5% estimate, but can easily be scaled up or down as needed based on your estimated thc totals. From here, you can take a sample to find out how close you are and adjust your dosage as needed.

Good luck.

Any advice on making gummies with all of it?

I envy folks who get good out of trim and leaves. I use nothing but buds. I have tried it with the other stuff and lots of it. If I add trim on top of the buds it seems to weaken the effect rather than add to the potency.

Try a clean extraction technique on it and then you'll know how much you have and can test dosage. Good luck, sounds like a lot of work ahead unless you got a nice lab.
