Making my own grow tent (got some questions)

Hi! This is my first grow and im making a kind of budget tent cuz I lack of money right now.

(I already own a 600w ballast + HPS lamp + cooltube)

My plan is to build a tent with panda film with some kind of sturdy construction to hold the lamp (I got mostly of that figured out).

My questions is if this will work for ventilation:

*I use this setup for intake/inline (picture borrowed from another member) https://www.rollitup.org/attachments/do-yourself/1750171d1314154319-cheap-easy-inline-fan-under-dscn1232.jpg

*and I will also have the same construction inside the tent for exhaust, where the fan will take the air from inside the tent and push it out the pipe.

*For odor control:
I
will use i have been going trough the DIY section and this really was the best solution i found = https://www.rollitup.org/do-yourself/487645-50-diy-activated-charcoal-filter.html

*I am looking to do a Verticle grow (or SoG) with a fan under the cooltube (should i use a pipe leading to the cooltube with a fan underneath instead) and net to keep the leaves away from the cooltube which i will have in the middle (obv)

* How much will 4 regular tablefans + 600 w ballast + lamp do in energy consumption?

I am a beginner and this will be my first build + grow, I dont want any flames but I im looking for constructive criticism before i start building!

Thank you,
Sirsmur

if you need more info to answer my questions, pls ask.

if your going to do a vert set up, you might want to check out some of the ones in the vert section. prawn connery has one thats about as simple and efficient as it gets. it's baisicaly barebulb with a box fan under it pointed straight up. wether a table fan will be able to push (pulling works better btw) enough air through ducting and a filter to keep acceptable temps is going to depend on ambient temps. my guess is no tho, you will prob need an inline or at least rig up a bigger fan as an inline. hth

You don't need a cool tube if you are going to hang a vertical bulb - all you need is a floor fan blowing straight up over the bulb (see image below) and an exhaust fan to take heat out of the room/cabinet/chamber. The exhaust fan or ducting should preferably be over the top of the bulb to duct the heat straight from the source (the 600w bulb) and should go to a carbon filter to keep smell down. If you really want to control odor, you need to make your grow tent as secure as possible, without too many gaps, but you also need an inlet - preferably very low in the room so ventilation can enter the bottom of the tent and exit up the top.

A single 600w vertical bulb works very well - it was the first vertical set-up I tried (now running 2x600w stacked one on top of the other). You will preferably need a cage (you can use fencing wire) around the fan to keep the plants growing into the light and to support heavy branches.

The fan uses little power - maybe 50-100w depending on model - which is about the same as one tungsten light bulb.

Thank you for taking your time, I understand completely what you say, and now my plan is:

*The net
*Fan under lamp
*Use my DYI exhaust with a fan in the roof that sucks the other fans blowings(sorry for my english),
*1x600 w hps

1.*?*?*How many plants can i use with this setup to max yield, I will use autoflower seeds, and this is my first grow, I just want the first grow fast with as much yield as possible(but still 80% quality.)

Take this in consideration and please try to help me :)
I have another question, please answer both.

2. I instead build a SOG with a net to control height(how do I control height, just with the net or with light cycles?) and then I have place to extend my paradise with another home made tent for a future queen of my paradise`or a smaller grow beside with another lamp in the future. (HOW much yield from SOG and how much plants can i grow with 600w hps for max yield (80+ quality?)

Anyone can answer this, please do! My growguild will come soon and I hope to get to know alot of well hearted people in this forum that can SPONSOR my paradise with love, comments and advice:roll:!

I've never sogged, but I do know it has the potential for very good yields, and still is the preferred flowering method for a lot of Dutch growers. It uses a lot of individual plants, though, if you are concerned about plant numbers.

Vertical growing also has the potential for excellent yields - 20+oz per 600w light should be relatively easy.

I've no interest in auto flowering strains, so have never grown them. But if you don't expect them to get too big, then you could fit more plants around a vertical bulb - maybe up to 8 plants or more. 6 plants is usually ideal for my 1200w set-up, but my plants grow much bigger.

How do you plan to grow? In soil pots, coco or hydro?
