Marijuana and Poinsettia

I have both plants growing outside. Poinsettia's only flower on a 12/12 cycle, like Marijuana.

Can I keep them outside but only provide 12/12 for them, like bring them inside to induce flowering and keep them in total dark for 12 hours a day. Where I live we are getting about 14/10 right now and I can bring it in 2 hours before the sun goes down.

Anyone ever tried to do this? Or is it a lost cause?

I know a lot about plants, but I want to know if I can do the same thing with my girl that I do with my Poinsettia. I mean, it can't hurt. I just don't like wasting money on bulbs when I can use the sun as my light bulb for the summer.
