I was hanging out with a cop friend of mine last night. His force is telling them not to fuck with less than 20g. they are also not fucking with paraphernalia possession, which is now worse than the weed.

He said that the courts will also become more lenient on the larger possession charges as a result.

Lastly, anticipates full legalization in a year which i think is overly optimistic but it is coming.

Bottom line was a cop (who does narcotics investigations) telling me it is essentially legal today, not worth writing the ticket, and so long as you don't get caught with it in your car, we are free!

I live in a fairly rural, conservative area of the state. So not the most progressive.

I hope he's right in saying we are on our way to full legalization here. We're such a slow state to get things movin

I look at this way. They have essentially given in in MD now. If they are not prosecuting normal possession, they all they are doing is forcing it into the black market. So the most logical next step is to get tax revenue off of what is happening anyway...

Maryland's lawmakers in Annapolis, voracious tax-fattened hyenas of the first water, will probably be pushing legalization in a short while. You KNOW they are looking at CO and getting wood, thinking about all the tax revenue they could be generating with legal weed.

Their greed will give us our legal weed.

I could not believe it when MD decriminalized....

Bear in mind, that, curiously enough, it is a staunchly Dem state, second only to Massachusetts.......and one that taxes the RAIN that falls on your property.

I am amazed that they are so slow to legalize

Mike Miller, the leader of the senate, said it won't pass. My understanding is he's the big power broker and gatekeeper, so it probably won't.

On the other hand, I don't believe he wanted casinos either.

I'd be happy just to have a state with a dispensary I could buy from that is closer than Colorado...
