Maximize grow

I'm legally limited to 6 plants and want to maximize my grow space
My idea is to setup 6 grow tents with one plant per tent and a 315cmh.
Would a 2*4 or 4*4 tent be best?
Will it be possible to get a pound per tent/ light with the right strain, training and grow conditions?

If you're going for a pound per tent, you'll need a 4x4.
Will you get a pound, probably not (for the first few runs anyway), but it might be possible.

This is my first CMH/perpetual grow, started this girl in Oct. she should be finished around Valentines, I'm hoping for 10oz or more

Most folks say a 315 best covers a 3x3 space.
I would rather have a 4x4 and not fill it though than a 3x3 and struggle with room.
Scrog each plant. Veg long, big pot. Healthy plant. You have a chance.
I wouldn't get my hopes up to start with.
Blue dream yields well and is fairly easy to grow.

If you do it right with scrog or without honestly you should easily be able to pull 1 lb per 4x4. AS long as you know what your doing, and have an adaquate environment and light ...

So to the OP, take a look at renfro's setup it's a cool example of maxing out your plant count.

As far as your specific plan you layers out. I don't think 6 separate tents makes any sense. That seems like it would be hard to properly control the environment vs one larger tent/grow space that will give you plenty of room to work and move plants. In a larger space you can also keep your plants closer and try to max your light usage by getting overlap lighting.

If your goal is max yield on these plants I would think about more lighting then just some 315cmh. Experienced growers pull 1g/w sometimes more when they dial in the grow. It takes time and a few grows to figure it out. So even if you have a good first grow with the 315, your still probably not looking at a lb unless you spend serious amounts of time vegging and training. The easiest way to get more yield is add more light and space.

If your thinking 6 big plants either together or separate then getting side lighting like renfro has is important.

In big room or tent you could have all 6 bushes with cmh over top and then hang more cmh vertically in between the middle of the plants which would drastically increase yield potential. If you then added more side lighting to the outside of the plants (maybe some QBs for space saving) you are starting to get somewhere!

I would spend less money on buying tents and invest more money in serious lighting. Your yields are directly linked to the amount of light you put on your plants!

I have actually changed my plans and have decided to grow 6 plants in a room 9x9 .

I'm looking at a few light schemes and wondered what you guys think.

What is your budget and media preference? (And height of the room) and how many amps does the room have access too? And do you have easy water access?

Budget isn't an issue and I'm still trying to decide the media.. I'm thinking about a Hydro setup with dtw. looking for a system with the lowest maintenance but fastest growth and biggest yield.
Its a shed with 8ft walls plus pitched roof
Putting in a 40 amp service and quality water is plentiful

2x4 will be good for a single 315. I ran two in a 5x5 and was happy but had I only run one, the results would have been different.

What climate area are you in? And do you have a minisplit, dehumidifier or anything else equipment wise? It will help determine what other equipment you will need to rate for for environmental control. And when you say budget isn't an issue that can be a slippery slope in this hobby lol.

I'm in the northeast so it can be pretty cold. I plan to install a two ton mini split and probably a floor model dehumidifier if that will be sufficient.
I'm getting the shed sprayed with foam insulation but I'm thinking I might have a problem pulling make up air from the outside cold weather so I was wondering if you'd recommend a sealed room and a cooled c02 Propane generator. Not sure how much that will cost me a month since Propane is $3.50 a gallon.
You're right, it could get expensive real quick

Even with a sealed room you need to have a vent fan. The reason is etheleyne gas. It's put off by the plants as they grow and if not vented daily it will build up can cause early ripening and thus loss of yields. If you can vent the air once daily it will prevent this.

Of course you will either have to install it yourself or pay a tech. I just did mine myself as I have all the tools.

Make sure the minisplit you get has a low ambient operation (the one I linked works down to 4 degrees) and auto restart after power outage. Those are pretty critical.

I run CO2 and use my natural gas. Two large rooms only costs me about 60 bucks a month to add CO2.

Also having a vent fan gives you a way to cool the room if outside temperatures drop below the ambient spec of the AC unit. I use my vent fan hooked up to my autopilot controller as a cooling device. I set the day time temp to just above where the AC should hold. If the AC quits the blower takes over. Combined with high temperature cutoff of my side lighting this will prevent any overheating.

I set the night time temp to about 10 degrees below daytime temp so when the lights go off the fan kicks on and blows in filtered (dust shroom) fresh air pushing out the ethylene gas.

My AC units are also on a flip with my room lights. If you do this using a properly rated contactor setup it will cut power to the AC when the lights go off saving energy.

What type of unit do you use for co2 via natural gas? I've seen a cooled co2 generator for around $300 on Amazon but it doesn't get good reviews.
Only propane has in my area so hopfully there's a conversion kit
