Maybe screwed up transplant

I have 2 northern lights that I transplanted today. I did everything right but when I flipped my pots a lot of the soil was loose and I feel like I lost some good roots. These are 3 week old autos. I'm nervous that they might not take well to their new homes because of my rushed movement. Any tips to preserve what I can?

Why'd your transplant autos? Future recommendation would be to run then start to finish in a 3 gallon pot. Most autos have a very short veg time and ANY stress during this time can/will effect your overall harvest. Granted I am a new grower, but everyone I have spoke with advised against autos for new growers for this reason exactly. Whether it be transplanting or other stressers caused by the gardener it can and will effect yield. The only auto's I have running were some freebies I decided to just throw in some dirt and let them do their thing.

For my next grow I'll start in the bigger pot. Its my first grow and I'm learning a ton during the process. I have 5 more auto seeds to plant and I'll be doing them 2 and then 3 at a time after these harvest. I don't have a huge need to yield a high amount. When I purchased the seeds I figured auto sounded better before I knew the difference. I figure I'll make my mistakes now with these autos and when I'm almost done with them I'll get some photo periods. I'll have more knowledge and be able to treat them well. I'm glad to start with a plant that's easier to kill, if I'm successful I'll have a bit more confidence in my later grows.

Thank you for your reply, I love getting insight from the folks on RIU

If they start to droop you know why. Always make sure its rootbound before re potting.

Yeah I found that out the hard way. Wanted to make sure they didn't get too rootbound so that they had time to recover but I was way off. It was a good lesson in how the roots develop at that stage though.
