Today I received an email from the NSW that the NSW commitee for medical marijuana had redleased its report. I and 127 others contributed through submissions - being there in person or through other means. As a nurse I am feeling pretty rosy that they sided in some aspects with the medical marijuana user. You have to start somewhere and they are starting by suggesting 15 grams of dried marijuana if you have a terminal illness. Since the other states basically laughed at me when I wrote to them asking for a program to be created, I'm glad that NSW's committee listened in some respects to us. Even one doctor made a submission for it.

Here is the link to the report.

They have to get the NSW health minister to write the fed government health minister. YOu have such high levels of conservativism in AUstralia that who knows if it will get approved but this report is a very important start. ANd if I end up staying here I will run for government federally but not sure yet.

Congrats to all who participated. At least one state listened to us in part.

Yeah! It is pretty cool to see something come of your efforts. Regardless of whether or not a federal health minister does anything. History has been made here because a state government committee report has determined and recommended that medical marijuana should be given to the public for various illnesses and that is such an important first start for your country. Keep fighting Australia.

Its only going to get better for patients from here on out. You can already see from the numbers and also this report alone that people are starting to come around and side with this wonderful plant. It all comes down to people sticking to what they know...Marijuana was illegal throughout their lives therefore thats what they are used too. People need to get over their personal opinions and start looking at the evidence being provided worldwide about this plant and its benefits. People should push personal views aside and start thinking about our sick and ill. Anything, and I mean ANYTHING that can give some relief and comfort without the side effects of some prescription meds should be highly considered! I just dont see how some people could say "No, its a drug and it should be illegal"...Taking into account tobacco, alcohol and even coffee...

Ok, im starting to rant...Gonna stop lol.... Congratulations though :peace:

LOL. The government clerk who the bill is addressed to is a Mr Blunt. There's got to be a good omen in that! It's good news but these clapped out old Gin drinking torries still run rhe roost...so dont go spending ya hard earned spondooliks on Volcano Vapes just yet people.

NSW government shot it down - Medical marijuana debate: NSW rules out approving cannabis for terminally-ill patients
In May, a cross-party parliamentary committee unanimously recommended allowing terminally-ill patients and people with AIDS to legally use up to 15 grams of marijuana for medicinal purposes.

But the Government has rejected the recommendation, saying there is limited evidence about the efficiency of cannabis for medical purposes and it does not support the use of unregulated cannabis products.
