Mejui Light issue. A8

Been using a couple A8's from mejui for 4 or 6 months and now 4 of the bars on one light are very very dim. The other 4 are bright and normal.
Is it possible that the dimmer could do that ? Ive heard @bk78 talking about tossing their junk dimmers.

I dont see the dimmer doing this so im going to have to assume that its the wiring inside. (the 4 bad ones are lighting up very dim and they get a tiny bit brighter with the dimmer)
Driver says 24-50 volts or something close to that , so im assuming they wired them in series to get 48v. Not sure.
If they were completely out , i would just suspect a broke connection but with them still lighting up , im a bit worried. Does mejui even have customer service ?

When i first reviewed these A8's , i said they were cheaply built with a TERRIBLE design in the way you put them together. Im still happy with the purchase as long as i can open the frame up and fix the problem. (overall , they are fine if you be careful putting it together....the light is amazing)

I would take the dimmers out of the equation and inspect all wire connections and hook it back up just to ensure I know precisely where my issue lay.

I have no problems doing any of that but what i do not know anything about is dimmers. i learned enough to not care about how the dimmer works so my question is: How do i eliminate it ? If i just take it off, will it just give me 100% power ? Thanks bud!

There's only one dimmer right? It sounds kinda like a wiring issue to me.

Likely, however to troubleshoot I would remove all potential variables.
The dimmer, then use a multimeter to test each point of contact with the wiring. Could be as simple as a splice or solder.

Ya, I wonder if it's right at the hinged part. Since that folds I think.

Nah , it dont fold. According to other reviews , i think bk is the one i actually listened to, the folding ones are much better quality and about the same price. The way it goes together is a shitty idea. If it had something to hold all the bars into place then it would not be near as bad but you cant really take these down without help. (its 10 pieces vs one) All 8 bars are just laying in the socket....nothing holding them in but gravity.

Im gonna go take it apart now. Its one dimmer per light but im only working with one light right now. Surely the problem is right in my face.....
If its not and i cant see the problem then can i just cut the dimmer off the driver ?
 
Is this the one? If so, it's not the dimmer. The HLG-600 has two output cords to handle the 16.7 amp output. I'd start with voltage checks on the dead side. Start at the driver and follow it from there.

LOL, At least they use American music. ;-)

Yes it was. bad joint on that part where its burnt on the board.

The reason that part burnt out is for one: it shuoldnt be there at all. Two , its a cheap junk connector that was already broke but it was still getting enough connection to make um come on.

I just did the right thing and used wirenuts. Less resistance and easier to use if your not going for looks.

Those are too hard to get a hold of. Gotta go all the way to the store for those. I got wirenuts handy at all times. wagos are for rich folk and american designed lights :lol::lol:

If i upgrade most every piece in the light , it will be a quality built light. hahahahahah

I DID make sure i put calmag in the wirenuts. Im not stupid.


about a pound.
