Hello this is my first grow and I have white widow seedlings just under 3 days old. I have them under a 1000w digilux MH and silverstar air cooled hood in conjunction with a Lumatek 1000w digital ballast. All seems to be well temp/humidity etc and they are growing fast. 2 things. 1 I just grazed every seedling with the propogator lid. They all sprung back and there is no visible damage. But also I just realised for the first two days I had them in a 18/8 light cycle. I wish I knew is the answer too the question your asking your self right now. Just want to know what too expect. The pic added was yesterday morning. Ive gently removed seed husks and they all have the embryo and first set of leaves and look healthy. They really seem too love the Digilux. Any opinions would be greatly yardayarda etc...lol.

Kind Regards.

I think you mean 18/6 right? 24 hours in a day and all....
What ever you did to your timer, sit down and exhale...
Everything is going to be fine... If this minor problem this early in your grow 'flips' you out...
Just quit now while you are not insane...
It's all good....
VERY MINOR ISSUE....

Good Luck!

Thanks. I dunno whats up with my math. Been doing it manually as my budget ran out. But its pays day tommorrow so I can get the timer other bits and bobs. Really appreciate the calming, upper case, underlined words. Greats stuff.

Just for thought, since your switching your light schedule... I'd suggest looking in to what your off peak hours and peak hours are that way you can set the time to work around peak to save a little bit of doe, where I am its .33 per kWh during peak 5 times higher then off peak which is only .07 cents...and always remember the more you do the worst stuff gets put those babies on a timer and let them do their thing..peace. #goodluck

Thanks. Yeah I hear you 'keep it simple'. I will look into that especially as im on the meter. To be honest as its my first time feel like checking them every ten minutes but ill try and reign that in. Thanks for all the input very much appreciated.

There's nothing to worry about. In fact, you could probably leave them on 18/8 if you wanted, the cycle just wouldn't be aligned with actual day/night hours for 12 days at a time. You could also have phased-in the change over a 12 day period, but IMO, it's too early to cause problems by knocking 2hrs off the dark period in one shot.

Wait, how were you putting them on 18/8 without a timer?
