Metal Halide until sex is revealed????

Is it possible for me to keep my plants under my 400watt metal halide until after my plants reveal their sex? If so, will this hinder growth? Has anyone done this before with good results?

you can flower you plants under metal halide no problem at all. dont listen to people if they tell you otherwise. you might get a little more yield if you use HPS. I hav found that using a metal halide the first two weeks of flowering decreases the amount of stretch the plant has

If your growing from seed you should be able to pre sex ur plants at about 2 months old while your plants are still vegging under your mh.Do u have an hps???If not you can purchase mh bulbs that emit more red light than regular mh bulbs.I think the agro sun gold series is one of them.You can veg and flower with the same bulb.Go out and get some T-5s 3500k for flowering along w/your mh.Good luck.

the answer is yes, i see lots of people who use mh untill the plant preflowers, then they will switch to hps because the yield is better and is reported to have denser buds. im going to use an mh light untill mine preflower, then switch the bulb to hps when i go to 12/12.
