Mh in hps ??

I have an hps ballast and bulb 70w and I need to get new bulbs cuz mine just burnt out so I was woundering if I could get a metal halide light for veg and have an hps light for flower here is the light https://www.rollitup.org/grow-room-design-setup/186225-need-help-my-70w-hps-2.html#

I have made it a remote balast now so it's not all 1 unit if u need updated picks let me know thanks for the help in advance I appriciate it!!!

metal halide bulb for flowering-good
high pressure sodium bulb for vegging-good
high pressure sodium bulb for flowering-great
dual spectrum bulb for vegging-best

but if its an hps ballast it might only hold an hps bulb, and metal halide ballast only hold m/h bulbs if it were a hps/metal halide ballast you would be able to run both.

unless the ballast is made for both,dont switch types of bulbs,the wrong one may light & work for a while but.....

They also make a conversion bulb that will also work on a singul ballest.The way I see it,a mhl/hps bulb will work with a hps ballast,and a hps/mhl bulb will work on the mhl ballast.I could be wrong.Just look up mhl/hps conversion..Good Luck on your grow..Stay Happy,Healthy,and High..

ive been switching them in an hps ballast seems fine so far,may lose some of bulb or ballasts life????????????????not yet though i ran a 400w in a1k cooked the ballast
