mh or t5 fluorescent 4 veg?

Like all my friends are all bent on t5s here in michigan but I read MH was better for veg for shorter internode space and also bushier plants. The benefits of t5s though are they are cheaper and cheaper to run plus they run cooler. There's pros and cons to both I guess. But what I'm wondering are what is your thoughts on veg lights? What do your run and why? Have you tried both? I was aiming for a 600 watt dimmable mh for a 4×4×6.5 feet tent to get better results than my friends. Growing 12 plants for my own medicine.

i sometimes use a t-5 for veg, but only if i want things to go slow, so i can finish flowering something else.

T5's are fine for veg, like @Silky Shagsalot says it will grow much slower under T5, but put a 425w 4' 8bulb T5 side by side with a 400w MH and I really don't think you will see much difference in growth, but light penetration will be less so T5 would be better closer to the plants which isn't a huge issue since T5's don't put out much heat.

I ran T5 veg for 2 years and I sometimes had plants ready before my flower room was empty, it's really a personal choice and environmental choice. Is your veg room well vented? If heat is an issue or because you can't vent out your room or because you just can't get a handle on it for whatever reason, T5's are going to be a better choice imo.

Ventilation is all set. Intake with fan pushing. Ac with temp control so kicks on if too hot in my intake room. Dehumidifier, humidifier, space heaters w thermostat. My house is set with programable thermostat also. Then air cooled reflectors hooked up to carbon filter with fan pushing it outside with a ozone generator. Then another can fan for air circulation blowing into my two rooms which are tents. Then oscillating fans in each. Hooked up. All my shits on timers and fan speed controllers. Lol

8×4 ×6.5ft flower tent with 1000 watt digital dimmable ballast. 4×4×6.5ft for veg 600 watt digital dimmable with Mh. Or shud i say fuck the 1000 watt and get 2 600 watys for my flower tent? Only can grow 12 plants legally from my medicine.

T5 is my go to for the first 5-6 wks. My personal choice. Everyone's different.

MH > T5. more lumens per watt and deeper penetration.

Hortilux 1000 made the mh bulb obscolete..if you an go with a 1000 run hortilux
