Midcoast Organic's Perpetual Organic + More, Indoor/Outdoor - Just growing Fantastic Stuff

It's spring and I'm starting to mix up a new batch of soils for both indoor and outdoor use, as well as amending the 20G containers that I grew in last season.

Last year I based my mixes on Coast Of Maine Platinum Growers Mix, with some Fox Farms soils, and both home-grown and store bought organics. I used a lot of Kelp, Alfalfa, Neem, Azomite, and some liquid fish and kelp. The outdoor worked very well, but indoor I had some struggles, and I learned a lot.

I'm keeping track of my soil mixes here for this year. I'm compiling data and will be posting it here, but that's it for now!

Doing soil tests on my 20G containers from last year were much in line with what I expected, but with one surprise -

pH good (~6.3)
Nitrogen somewhat depleted
Phosphorus somewhat depleted
Potassium in abundance!

Guess it was all those banana peels.

In all seriousness, I'll be amending with Blood Meal and Bone Meal, and keeping away from anything with high amounts of K. I've already amended with Kelp, Alfalfa, Neem, and some minerals. I don't usually care to use blood and bone outside, but I need fairly quick release organic nutes and I don't know if the plant based stuff will carry it. I'll probably throw in some more alfalfa as well, but I don't want to rely on that too much.

In addition to the containers mentioned above, I have two new LOS mixes, one for another 20G fabric bag, and a second of about the same volume for smaller containers. I also have a 4x8 raised bed that I'll be growing some Critical+2.0 in.

Here's what I'm using for a mix. I did add Dolomite lime due to the amount of peat moss/compost I added. I regret that I did not write down the amounts added, but I believe it was 1 to 1.5 cups each.

Above - Seedsman Purple Kush CBD 1:1 Almost ready. Maybe another 2 weeks on this one and 1 week on the other two plants.
