Mini 150 watt hps/ mh

a friend of mine has a license to grow and she only wants to grow 2 or 3 plants. so i was checking out the mini hid set ups and found a 150 watt hps for a great price. but my question is can i use a 150 watt mh in the hps system?

nope. u need a conversion type bulb to run mh with a hps ballast. they arent that much more expensive though so it saves cost on a ballast unless you plan on using this setup long term. if it is a newb needing the setup go with that untill they can figure out the needs of their setup.

use a 400 watt in 5 gallon buckets...they will treat you right.....150 is still really small and will not give you the light penitration...

wouldnt it be enough to grow 1 or 2 small plants. it seems like a 150 watt would be ideal for a 18x18 inch space maby 3 feet tall and lined with reflective material would do the job. and of course install a little computer fan for exhaust.

it would be enough all right, any light is enough to grow
but your buds will be very small and loose (airy) there would not be enough light to bud so they are worth it. You could prob get by with a 250 watt HPS but i would go no lower that that for the size area you are talking of.

just do some lollipop buds if you can't get good light penatration, just do some good old pruning before you go into flower, you will be alright.......
