I was like you, didn't know so I planted my first seeds in two days. These are fully developed 'tiger strip' seeds and they popped, and grew, germinate in paper towel. Super exciting time, like, you did it, no more 'frigin rip' seed banks. The rest aren't in the fridge either, they're sealed in a jar with a few rice under the sink, 'cool' and 'dark'.

Some seeds seem to popped right away, but a good drying time along with a chill like in the fridge seems to increase the rate for me. This is more follow what nature does.
