mix plant stealth indoor cfl grow

whats up RIU!! well i am 4 weeks into veg, and decided I wanted to show my plants off!! this is my second grow. my first grow is my avatar, but it turned out male.

so i started 3 seeds this time to even out the odds on a girl. 2 of them are random bagseed (pictures bs1- and bs2-) and jane is from some smoke which is no schwag. there has never been a seed in this smoke, and then the guy i got it from told me he found some and said I could have them, AWESOME. it looks like a good strain, but I cant tell.

BS1 popped early on Jan 9th but it was planted in the same container as BS2 cuz i didnt think they would both pop. I transplanted it at 9 days cuz BS2 did not look as good, but it stunted it a little more than i expected. now BS2 which popped late on Jan 10th, is now far exceeding BS1. I have topped BS2 and begun to LST it to keep it close to in height with BS1 and Jane. I topped her above the 3rd node, but meant to do the 2nd. oh well i will learn. jane took 6 days to sprout and I thought it was gone to be honest. i was mad cuz it was in its own container. It then took off, and was at 6 nodes so I topped to keep the height under control, but it is taking longer to recover from topping.

Oh yeah, i have real purple stems on the BS2 and Jane. I added some Espoma flower tone 3-5-7 cuz after some research i found it may be due to a possible K or mag def. You can see that the new branches from after topping them are bright green, but the old branches are purple. they are growing good though. I have them in some Baccto slow release potting soil and have am only using water with with the Espoma.

Let me know what you folks think. I plan on 12/12 next saturday or sunday.

I would give them 2-2 1/2 weeks more to veg, unless you have height limitations which with LST height doesnt matter, veg them as long as possible if you can to get the highest potential out of your plants yeild, and potency. So far they look good but I believe if you have 30-35 inch height you could veg a plant near two months with LST or scrog and not have an issue with height even into flowering the plant.

off to a good start! im starting to notice my AI stems turning darker purple, also all of the fan leaves are starting to droop as well. At this point, im not sure if it is a P/K deficiency or overwatering? Im using Jack's Classic which has the correct NPK ratios. I fed them with some more nutes today thinking maybe i was too conservative so well see how it goes.

I have been thinking about vegging longer. they have been vegging for 30 days so far. sunday will be about 5 weeks. i only have right at 3 feet total in my box, but I can tied everything down, and I do have a rack I can use for a screen and scrog.

I am actually lowering my daylight 1 hour a day, so I may pause for a couple of days, or change to 30 minutes a day. trying to simulate fall coming on, and if I get them to show sex and begin to flower at 14/8 i will leave them there for a little while. I am at 15/7 now.

what is the N-P-K on that Jacks? from what I read is the purple may mean they need more P-K than veg nutes give. so if your using the 20-20-20 right now, you may want to dose with your bloom nutes, which I think are 10-30-20, i dont think it will hurt. but since they have the same K ratio it may not help. may need a higher ratio, or feed them a banana peel and ashes (more stuff I read, ignore it!)

my soil has .85 N-.05 P-.10 K, so I really lacked in P & K. you can see my growth is now coming out green and those tops came out right after I added the 3-5-7 espoma. everything except the top set of fan leaves are bout cleared up.

Have you ever heard the saying the more light the more growth, well if you are giving them a odd light cycle like 15/7 it could stunt the plant because it isnt getting the amount of light it be getting, say on a 18/6 schedule. You dont need to simulate fall coming because once you start 12/12 they will show sex within 2 weeks the same as your plants that you gradually started flowering. So my point is whats the point, that you wasted all that time changing timers.

so i updated my journal with this problem im having. Yes the bloom nutes from Jack's is a 10-30-20 but I also have some Dyna-Gro 3-12-6 for blooming as well that should work. In any event, I just fed her last night so Im gonna hold off for a few days to see how she does. I was planning on switching them to 12/12 at the end of the week (which would be exactly 30 days) however im not too sure if I should hold off till she starts recovering.

i agree to some extent, but I dont think it will have a negative effect on them. after all mother nature gives them a wide array of issues to overcome like solid "gray"days from weather, full moons, and varying lengths of daylight from april to october. I may bump 'em back up to 18/6 and let them veg longer like you suggested, or just let them veg longer at 15/7. thanks for your points though, they do help me see the whole picture better. but i didnt waste much time changing timers, its mechanical and i just have to bump it up a notch!!

yeah, try the dyna-grow next. after that maybe skip a feeding or two, then do it again. I have started to try and find where I found info on the purple stems, i will let you know what I find. mine are still growing great as far as I can tell, and yours seem to be to, sorry about the aurora indica though, i hope she makes it. I heard that is some killa smoke

hey, i just checked out the kids, and WOA! did they grow. I guess BS2 will have 4 nodes, cuz the 3rd one grew over an inch today, the primary nodes grew close to an inch, and the 4th node is under the lst and still is about as high as the other 3. Jane didnt grow much, but its a tighter bushier plant, one of the leaves didnt look good, but I didint have time to check it out good, i still think it will flower well. BS1 even grew its stunted ass a bunch. I adjusted the lights to about 3 inches away 15 hours and it was already all up in a 26 watt 6500k bulb. no damage to it though.

sat will be 5 weeks, and they are currently on a 17/7 light schedule, i kno, we'll call it my wierd "experiment", if i phuk it up then so b it. my point is I dont know if I will be able to veg 7 weeks. they are going to overgrow any LST i can do by then, but I am pinning 'em down as I good as I can without SNAP!'n 'em. maybe I will try to flower @ 6 weeks.

purple is bout faded away. i did look up some more on this and there are a lot of varying opinions on it. anything from let it go, to N def, and even a large difference in daytime and nighttime temps. I posted a link below if it will help you jpnspec, looks like good info. i even read on another site giving to much P wont hurt, and will help short length grows.

thanks for the link. she's showing alot more new growth so i think she may be ok. I put her in a separate veg room and will leave her there till she recovers while starting my flowering tmr for the rest. Any updated pics of yours?

i have 6 26 watt 6500k at 1600 lumens each/total 9600 lumens, i have 2 30 watt 2700k at 2050 lumens each/4100 total, and finally i have a 42 watt 2700k 2600 lumen light, for a grand total of 16300. I am going to switch 2 of the 6500k for 2 2700k when i begin 12/12 next saturday. that will up my lumens to 16600. if you look at my last pic update, they have grown fast in about 7 days.

thanks for stopping by jp. they do grow fast as the wind! how are your making it from the ph inbalance? I plan on going into flower about sunday, which will be 42 days of veg. i am slowly reducing the daylight 30 minutes a day until either I see sex, or i get to 12/12. if I see sex before I get to 12/12, i will leave the lights on for the duration at the time for a few days to give them some extra grow time. I know this is a weird experiment, but I have always wanted to try and replicate the sun in this manner.
