Hey everybody, Im on day 56 of flowering with my masterkush. I've observed the trichromes and i just don't know when to pick. They look cloudy (they've milked up on day 53 when i started the flush and switched from 12/12 to 14/10), but then when i change focus on the microscope on trichromes, some in the back look amber. How long should it take from now for 2 of htese plants under 400 watts HPS to have the THC start breaking down into CBN CBG etc.? Its also day 56, would it be stupid for me to cut off one shoot to test it out? All the trichrome pictures online are really confusing because they don't look that different when they're amber clear or clowdy. If anyone has a very good link of pictures to go by on judging trichromes, please post them. I've seen the pictures that are most circulated on the net, so if someone has a very good link that not everyone knows about, please share it!

Argh this plant is really testing the limits of my patience, but Im sure now that the capitate trichromes are milky now and maybe amber. I just need a nice set of pictures that are clear and show the stages of trichromes.

P.S. as a first time grower, should I cut off one milky shoot just for the hell of it? it might be a mistake but I dunno as I learned from fishing, time on the water, first hand experience will let me know when pot is ripe. I have big colas so I'm willing to compromise some yield. On top of that I'm just sick of morrocan hash (body high) so if the trichs are milky will it be exciting for me?

Thanks :joint:

You need 2 weeks to finish maybe 10 days then flush water only til you get yellow leaves.Yellow leaves means it is cannibolizing on itself, this is good.Need pictures.

Hey im gonna take some pictures, I'm just kinda sketched out about doing that but what the hay. Anyways, one problem is that I've already started just water feeding it and I flushed on day 53, and now in retrospect what I thought were milky trichomes when I flushed were possibly 50/50 clear/milky. However, they might have all been milky, because I am a noob grower and "paulio's trich guide" has not been very helpful in helping me identify the difference between amber and milky. If I started the flush too early, is it ok for me to go back on nutes for a week, then restart my flush? Im just wondering because the plant is feed ing off itself the fan leaves are yellow. Will the leaves in the buds turn yellow too? Ill post pics in a few hours.

btw - on seedbank sites, it consistently says (about MasterKush) either 7-9 weeks flowering or 8-10 ... and 400 hps for 2 plants is obviously sufficient so they could be part cloudy part amber right now for all I know ... it's hard for me to know the difference.

Don't listen to seedbank flowering time...that is just a general idea...there are so many other variables that affect harvest...it is simply a judgement to yourself...It would not hurt the plant if you felt you wanted to take a lil bud and dry it to test...Actually when I harvested last time, I harvested for ww plants purposely every few days apart, dried and cured the same way afterwards...Reason being is I wanted to see the difference in my buds...few days apart difference...and honestly there were quite a bit of substantial differences as far as the high....Its basically a personal preference:peace:

hey, lets see some pictures, im growing MK as well and want to see what im heading into
I hear ya. I'm going to take my first pic of the first grow today (day 57 flowering...), I looked at your current thread and people were talking about smell; well, maybe it's just me, but my MK really isn't giving a stink and its in late flowering, so hopefully nothing's wrong with mine which would mean yours wouldnt stink
good luck, i'll have pics posted TODAY i swear

I totally agree with Zekedogg. You can't go by what it says are the flowering times. It's kind of like when you go and purchase regular flowers or vegetables and it tells you when the flowering time is. Well this all depends on your zoning area. Whether you grow indoors or outdoors, it is all the same. Not everyone has the same temperature, lighting, nutrients etc...so it is impossible to give an exact date as to when they will be ready.

Your buds look awesome though. nice grow.

Yes you can feed after flushing.I will flush 3 or so times during a grow before the actual last flush.Flushing is a good way to clean up any plant problems and get salts,etc.out.As far as seed bank flowering times this is very general and is simply a reference. Some plants for whatever reason(Environmental, damage, whatever)grow at diff.rates.In general those flowering time are give or take 2 or so or more weeks.

I have a shitty camera, Im showing the pics that could fit. Pot photography isn't as easy as it looks:mrgreen:. its a 1mx1mx2m tent......2 masterkushes.

Are these ok pics for you guys? Almost every fan leaf is yellow now, and I'm seeing some amber in every bud ..... how long does it take to get from amber showing up till the final 75-80% that I want? I've read on forums that once all the buds are all cloudy, from that day till 2 weeks later, they stay cloudy then all of a sudden get amber real quick-like. Is there any truth to this?

Much appreciation for any more help that you could offer to get me to be able to know when it's choppin' time, because I know that my plants are going along as fast as all the other people with grow journals that have plants that are "7 to 9 weeks flowering" and am wondering if maybe I just can't tell the difference between colors or something ... haha nah but seriously
Thanks
