Hi. I'm here to tell you guys about the CFL grow that I'm setting up and to get your input on it. Here we go:
Enclosure:
Two large tubs stacked on each other. Free, since I already own them.
Lighting:
I'm thinking four ~80W CFLs, two for veg and two for flower.
Let me ask you this. Say I have 8 ~20W CFL's, 4 which are 2500K and 4 which are 5600K. They say you should have ~100W per plant. Combining the lights for both the cycles of the plant would add more lumens, and the color spectrum that is being included is the correct one. But does the suggested ~100W have to be entirely from the correct color spectrum? You would have 4 of the darker colored bulbs in during vegging. Can the plant still use this light, or would it confuse the plant?
That's just a question.
As for ventilation:
I'll have two computer fans blowing air in near the base of the bottom tub and two at the top exhausting warm air out.
Reflection:
I'll either buy some mylar or alternative reflective material to line the inside or paint it flat white. I have a few reflectors that I can use for the CFL's.
Nutes:
I'm not quite sure yet. I'll have to wait to see what I spend on my lights.
And all this for ~$200.00. I'll be paying for lights, nutes, and misc. items, such as electrical components for the wiring and perhaps a PH testing kit or something.
Any recommendations on lights/nutes/whatever would be appreciated.
Thanks for reading!
