molasas and ppm

I have used molasas in my soil grows and would like to know if anyone uses it in hydro,this is my first hydro grow and just learning,also what is the average ppm for dwc. I know it depends on the plant itself but just looking for a ball park number,and also if anyone uses molasas in hydro how much do you use per gal. and how much does the molasas raise the ppm any advice will help thanks in advance and peace and grow on

I have used molasses my last grow in my ebb & flow system. I just used the standard amount per gal that people use for soil and mixed it in. I will say it foams pretty bad, but not bad enough to foam out of the reservoir. My system uses no feeder tubes or air stones, Just a recirculating pump to keep things mixed and aerated and the flood and drain lines. In a DWC it may foul your air stones or any small feeder tubes you may have.

1 tbs per gal (organic unsulphured molasses) is about 250-275ppm with RO water that is 2 ppm

how much did you use per gal. I dont think I like the thoughts of a foamey nute solution,although you are useing a differant system than I am so maybe it wont foam up but I have alot of bubbles in my buckets so it may foam up worse for me.I might just try it on 1 bucket and see what happens thanks peace and grow on

1 tbs per gal. For me, 25 gal.
Like I said, it was foamy and my only bubbles come from the fish tank power head pump (allows air to mix in the flow) to recirculate my mix.
You will have lots more bubbles that me.

I added 1 tsp per gal. last night and will be changing my nute solution again tonite because my ppm droped from 1300 to 900 after I put my nutes in the freezer to cool down a bit from being on the porch in the heat. I didnt know that would happen,even after it warmed back up it was still at 900, another lesson learned I guess,and Im refering to mixed nutes in water not the nutes themselfs.so I will see if it foamed up or not later on when the sun comes on. peace and grow on
