Videoman40 has an excellent post about the hows and whys. As to the where I bought a gallon at Gordon Food Service, About $8.00 for a gallon. Don't know if they have those in Cali. VV

I use grandmas blackstrap molasses, I use it about 3 times during flowering. I bought it at the supermarket, a couple tablespoons to the gallon, and stir.

You need to read the link in my sig, to learn about molasses, it feeds the soil, so if your growing in hydro, and you ruin your pumps, it is not my fault, you should have read the actual post, rather than just the title.
Anyhow, good luck with it!
Peace
