So what r some of the benefits of using Molasses? Its rather cheap and easy to get so it intrigues me, but what does it do to my plants?

I've heard its not good for hydro setups because it can clog the res--cane sugar or something more soluble might be a better option. I also use it for soil and have no problems though.

So does that mean it would not work in a Hydro setup? If it was pure cane sugar and was diluted correctly, then surely it would work? Yes, No??

I'm not experienced enough with hydro to say whether it is good or not. There should be plenty of info on RIU..do a tag search for molasses or something

I surely wouldnt use molasses in a hydro setup...
what it does is pretty much activate bacterias and such in your soil (Its kind of like using enzymes..) except it will also bring a calcium and magnesium amendment.... and flavor......
Its a very very thick syrup it does dilute in warm water... but if you were to let it sit for a long time, it would all just sink to the bottom and stick together again...... so if you dont wanna take chances clogging your hyrdo system i wouldnt do it.... If you want your plant to uptake nutrients a bit faster (which isnt really worth it in hyrdo) try enzymes, and if you want the "flavoring" of the molasses try fructose.... I believe you can find pretty liquid fructose which isnt syrupy and dont stick so much...
Hope this helped you make a decision :)
till then,
Keep it green in love and under JAH LIGHT

The plant draws all the goodness out of the mallases,it may not be good for us humans not mallases but anything sweet is a no no according to the people in the know.i don't use mallases but i do use sugar syrup thisis just sugar with boiling water added then i add this mix to my nutrients then ph the mix of nutrients and the sugar syrup.plants make there own sugars during flowering hat is another thing only use during flowering.this seems to make the bud heads swell then swell again.my sugar mix is about 50 ml of granulated sugar then add a pint of water till the sugar evaperates then add to your nutrients.i'm pretty much sure that you will only need a small ammount sat 20 ml of mallases because this is consentrated sugar.for an example if the wife or girlfriend fu@king boyfriend you never know get some flowers bought her whitch you should do out of love and respect for letting you get on with your hobbie.add a small ammount of sugar to the water and i gurentee that they last longer then normal.
