I know you said you're using soil, but...
To the hydro growers, especially those with airstones, be careful how much you add. If you add too much the water gets bubbly/sudsy, smells like ass and sticks all over the roots. Can't be a good thing. With my bubblin' buckets I generally stay around 1-3mL of molasses per gallon and no longer run into this issue.
Although I do think molasses in hydro may cause issues with pH swings after a few days. But at this point it's merely anecdotal for me, as this is my first DWC grow. I've had my nutrient solution become very acidic ater 2-3 days, dropping from 5.7 to 3.8pH
