it does contain some magnesium and other trace minerals, you can use it troughout the entire grow but it is more usefull during flower. It seems to aid in resin production as well as thickening up the buds. I use 1 tablespoon per gallon, i take 1 tablespoon and put in a coffe cup filled with water and heat for 1 minute in the microwave and then mix it with my gallon of water. This helps it to dissolve better.

No you won't find it at home depot or lowes, those are home improvement stores. You can get grandma's at most grocery stores but I would look for the real blackstrap molasses. Blackstrap is what is left over after the last step in sugar processing and contains higher concentrations of minerals than other molasses. You can tell the difference when just looking at grandma's and blackstrap side by side. You can most likely only find blackstrap at health food stores though.
