Mold on buds

My buddy harvested his first plant today. However, on a couple of the more dense buds, he found mold growing inside. Is there anything these buds could be used for, like making Green Dragon? Or does he just need to throw them out? I know that it's better safe than sorry, but I was wondering if anyone knew definitely.

can make a ISO extract, the 99% iso will kill any spores and sterilize everything.

This old RIU thread suggests messing with isopropyl alcohol but only to a certain degree of success and safety... I would think that green dragon within some everclear would kill the mold and get you high but again, I aint no scientist. Good luck man.

yeah the everclear should kill the mold as well. if your going to make a tincture and want to get high make sure you decarb the bud first.

The mold will dry and die but the bud will most likely taste like dirt.Keep in mind that the dead fruiting bodies of the mold will be left behind and possibly some viable spores also. Burning it, as when smoked will kill everything anyway but it could taste terrible.Too late to do now but I use a sea kelp foliar feed with a few drops of superthrive 2-3 times a week and when my buddies are sweatin it with mold none can be found in my grow at all.. Its been very consistant now. My last 3 grows have had fluctuating temps/humidity and still no mold or mildew . I did use this spray consistantly through all 3 grows. I grow natural and in soil for the records. If any one is interested .. I use 3 ounces of neptunes harvest seaweed fertilizer wich is basically just sea kelp..... 1/2 teaspoon of superthrive and 2 DROPS of dish washing soap ( the cheap stuff) In 1 gallon of water. the soap acts as a surfactant ( spreader/sticker ) and will smother parasites also . It works great for me maybe Ive just been lucky ,who knows ? Be careful and test a small branch 1st to check for any ill effects to YOUR grow. I dont need people mad at me lol !

I feel the pain. I jarred up a qp of bud just a little too early and told myself that I should burp it and leave it open as often as possible. I got busy the next day and it went about 40 hours without opening. Sure enough, the buds had white fuzzies on them. It was on the surface and also inside the buds. Painful lesson learned. I dried it out some more then put it aside. THe scary thing is that I busted the buds up and you couldnt even tell it had been molded until I smoked a little and the taste was horrible. I wonder how many bags of shitty brick weed I have bought that were like this? I dont do that to my peeps who happen to be patients so the bud is put aside for future R&D. Now I am a curing fool and am turning out the kindest of nugz!

The buds are trash if they are moldy. Fungi doesnt need to be alive to be harmful. Its the toxins produced by the fungi that are bad for you, and they don't magically disappear when te fungi is killed.
