Mold on drying buds

So im on my first grow and im still a few weeks from harvest, ive been reading through threads about drying and curing and it seems like mold and fungus are actually a pretty common yet devastating thing. I only have 2 plants so i dont have much room for error, i dont want to be overly paranoid about it but i also want to make sure ive covered my bases and do everything i can to prevent it. Are there any preventative measures? how dark does the drying room need to be? should i have an oscillating fan blowing across them all? just need some general info thanks alot!

i've so far had no mold problems drying, haven't found that too tough, mostly some common sense about air flow
but with curing, that was a little trickier starting out, i did get mold on my 1st cure attempt
highly recommend a humidity meter in the jar, great thread over in the harvesting forum

When you jar your bud up, if it starts to feel not dry on the outside of the bud, or if the buds start sticking together in the jar , it's not dry enough and it's best to take all the buds out and let them air out on a flat surface for 3-4hours a few times a day until they start to feel dry all the time, then you can just burp the jar once a day for a few week then you can forget about it
