More light the better? Even if it's the wrong spectrum?

I have a HPS 600 watt light with a grow bulb.
I also have a 400 watt light with a 4,000 k light bulb.

If I mount the 400 watter with the 600 HPS would this help? It does not even qualify for a grow bulb because of the 4000K.

Would it cause "stretching" because of the very blue color?

I have another 400 watt MH with a grow bulb for the VEG. This is a spare.

I have a small area 3.5 x 4.5 x 8. But both lights will fit.
Temps are not a concern.

I will give it a try. I just did not want them to stretch too much.

keep the light close enough with out burning up your plants, and you will be o k. good luck. no pics of the girls in bud.

them lookin nice. i take them off the main stalk. but if you have plenty light penatration to the lower branches then your fine. mine is real bushy

Yeah, I think I need to pluck some feathers!
I am getting very little light penetration to the lower level.

Running a modified "StinkBud" set up. Just love it!

Just wrap the plant in christmas red led lights... hahaha, kidding. But Why not get 4 70 W HPS to surround the plant? They are faily cheap. Home depot has them I think.

Well, money I guess! I am trying to make use of what I have. I know I have to trim off some fan leaves but they are doing so well I don't want to muck it up! I look at other grows and they don't have near as many leaves.
I will trim a little at a time and see how it grows!

don't take them all off at one time spread it out over a week or so. they wont go into shock.
