mother/clone lights

whats the best size light to keep mother plants and keep cuttings under ?? ive used a 250w metal halite yrs ago and worked well ,, is there newer and better smaller wattages out there these days that will do the job ??

i use a t5 fluorescent that uses around 325 watts. I would imagine that is about the same as the 250 watt metal halide. Only difference is the t5s you can keep them closer to the tops of the plant and you may get more compact growth. Honestly a 250 watt mh is a little much for a mother or some clones. You could get away with a 4 bulb 4 foot t5, maybe something even smaller

i dont do mother plants in my perpetual system but cuttings need very little light for rooting. i just let mine get side light from veg units.
